Sept 22 Update

Dear Praying Friends,

Well, I'll make this very short and sweet. We had a wonderful prayer meeting tonight ... kind of a "come as you are" ... which meant that most of us were dirty and stunk!!! The other day I got into my truck and thought "What IS that smell? My truck STINKS ... It smells like something died in here!" Then I realized ... IT WAS ME!!! UGH! Anyway, back to the prayer meeting ... In spite of our look ... and smell... and tiredness ... The Lord was in our midst and we had a great time with him! One of the primary focuses was our thanksgiving ... for how He is using the situation to reach souls ... for what he is doing in our lives ... and FOR YOU! We ALL are eternally grateful for your involvement in this situation and for your love and care expressed toward us! What a blessing each of you is! It's interesting how such a catastrophe has become a catalyst to bring us all closer together ... a meeting in Spain that is praying for us ... a widow in Africa who wants to help us financially ... a group of children who sell lemon aid to help our school reopen ... and reports too numerous to list of Believers and Meetings whose prayer life and passion for souls has been strengthened and built up! Praise the Lord for all that He is doing in each one of us and our meetings ... and using Katrina (who was NO lady) to do it!!

We had a great week so far! The team from PA. is in putting a new roof on the Chapel building! Praise the Lord!!! It's looking great. We just had three other teams arrive (from ND, FL and GA.) and plan to get back to tree clearing which we had kind of put on hold while we stripped houses. We've got a LOT of chain saw work and dragging to do! Then we've got some roof repair, sheet rock work, and window replacement that needs to get caught up on.

You might also pray for us with this new storm - Rita - in theGulf. They are already evacuating Galveston for quite a way East of there ... some of New Orleans is already under a mandatory evacuation! So far it doesn't look like it is going to turn and head this way! But we can't even afford to have it rain ... so ... PRAY!!! Enough for now,

Our love in Christ,
Robert R. & JoAnne Brown
